The Squabble between PlayStation 3 Vs Xbox 360

If you are a serious console gamer, then you are most likely to choose in the middle of these Goliath's of the video game industry. For years, even before whether of these were released, biter squabbles raged over which was better, or which had the best games. Today, any years after the release of both, habitancy can't help but discuss which they prefer. I know habitancy that couldn't rule in the middle of them, so their rejoinder was to just buy both! But for most people, that is a luxury that they can't afford, bringing us neatly back to our age old squabble, which is better, Sony's Ps3 or Microsoft's Xbox 360?

In the following article we will try to collate them in any different categories, whilst trying to remain unbiased. But finally only you know which you prefer, so which do you think?

Xbox360 Bluray

So your stuck, you want to buy a games console but you're stuck in the middle of buying a Ps3 or a Xbox 360. Well let's look at them under unavoidable categories.

The Squabble between PlayStation 3 Vs Xbox 360

Price

Money! usually the main guess why habitancy choose in the middle of the two. The price of both consoles has fluctuated over the years since each came out. Though this has been made a bit more complicated by the fact that you can buy different versions of each, which comprise a differing size of hard drives.

Currently here are the versions that you can buy for an approximate price at today's prices;

Ps3

160Gb..............£196-230. (8-374). (€230-270)
320Gb..............£240-270. (0-440). (€282-318)

Xbox 360

4Gb.................£120-180. (5-292). (€141-212)
250Gb.............£160-190. (0-310). (€188-223)

Prices obviously vary from shop to shop, and currency to currency, and you can buy console bundles with unavoidable games included for slightly more. My advice would be to shop nearby and find the best price/bundle for you!

But what are you paying for?

Graphics

This type is pretty prominent if your a gamer, and these two next generation consoles don't disappoint. Both offer breathtaking graphics, often leaving you awestruck at some of the fine detail that you can see in game. But which console has best graphics than the other? Well fanboys from each side will claim that theirs is the best performing. Sony has often been credited as having more first-rate graphical output, but that is unfortunately not true! But before the 360 fans cheer, neither has the Xbox360. It's pretty much a dead heat in this category. Games developers will testify that the Xbox 360's Xenos Gpu has more computing power than the Ps3's Rsx Gpu, so therefore it should offer slightly best graphics, but the unlikeness is hardly noticeable and is often affected by other factors. These comprise the Tv that you are playing on and plainly the potential of the game that you are playing.

Despite traditional misconceptions, both consoles tie in this category.

Media

So apart from the unavoidable games that you can buy and play for the named console, what else can you do with it? Well let's look at each console separately;

Ps3 Media

The Ps3 offers backwards compatibility with both Psx and Ps2 games, allowing gamers to play their old games. The Ps3 supports Blu-Ray and Dvd, which means that the console can double as a Blu-Ray player allowing you to watch films in full high-definition. You can also listen to your music by playing you're Cds on it. Due to the weighty whole of hard drive space available, music, films, photos, etc can all be uploaded and stored for later viewing. The Ps3 is online and has an integrated browser, so as long as you have passage to broadband connection, you can surf away on most websites on you're tele. And if you own a Psp, it has an interconnectivity highlight allowing you to download/upload in the middle of the two.

Xbox 360 Media

Well, maybe I should have written about this one first! supplementary media isn't the 360's strongest selling point. You can play old Xbox games on the new Xbox 360, but you have to save them to the internal hard drive, which means that you can't just insert the disk and play, as it is not compatible. You can play your Cds on it. When the 360 was originally released, the whole Blu-Ray vs Hd Dvd was going on, and the 360 plumped for the later. It was a gamble that didn't pay off for them since Blu-Ray won, therefore you can't watch blu-ray films on your 360. But, is that actually so much of a problem? You can still watch Dvds on it and the switch over from Dvd to Blu-Ray is pretty slow, whilst a blu-Ray film is currently considerably more expensive. The 360 is online but doesn't have an unbuilt browser. It does allow you to chat with your mates on Msn though.

In summary, the Ps3 wins hands down in this category. Yes, the Ps3 is more expensive, but you get a lot more for your money. You could say that when you buy a Ps3, you're getting a free Blu-Ray player included. But then again, if you are just curious in playing games, then maybe the 360 is best for you!

War on the Nintendo Wii

Well the Nintendo Wii was a huge hit that took both Sony and Microsoft a bit off guard. This year is the year of the fight back. The Ps3 is launching it's counter with it's new "Move" controller, whilst the Xbox 360 has released the "Kinect". Both offer different solutions and possible developments for unique games.

The "Move" looks basically like a neon microphone that is tracked by the "PlayStation Eye", calculating where it is and translating that movement into the game you are playing. This could be used as whatever from a sword to a tennis racket. But if we are honest, it is basically just a trackable Wii controller.

The "Kinect" is an supplementary box that will sit on top of you're tele and acts as a transfer to a conventional controller. It works by using a camera so the user can interact with the 360 by using gestures and sounds to play the game. Again if we are honest, this is basically a "PlayStation Eye". Microsoft's counter to the Wii is to copy the "Eye"! A lot of habitancy have had negative comments to the Kinect, generally because of the restrictions that are put upon the user. The user can't sit down, has to be in a well lit room with sufficient room to be stood at least 6ft from the screen.

So, the Ps3s "Move" offers a best alternative to the Wii. This will allow developers to generate more Wii like games for the Ps3. The "Kinect" allows the user to stand in their living room and flap nearby like a idiot, all for 100!

Online Gaming

No longer is online gaming solely just for Pc gamers. Both of these consoles offer online play for a variety of different games. Just add your friends to your friend list and you can chat and play against them. Both consoles offer the very addictive achievement function, now that Sony followed in Microsoft's footsteps, which allows you to unlock medals/badges by completing unavoidable tasks in game. These achievements are recorded on your online profile and can be showed off to your friends.

The potential of playing online can be a talking point. The Ps3 has a credit for being a bit buggy online, whilst the Xbox 360 has had much best feedback on it's online gaming.

Both Sony and Microsoft offer an online shop, accessible through the consoles interface, to allow games to be downloaded. This also includes other content, along with films, game demos, tv shows, themes, wallpaper, photos, comics and much more. The PlayStation Network Store and the Xbox Live Arcade both offer a wide selection to their online content, with an increasing whole of indie games like Braid and PixelJunk. The Xbla tends to offer more first-rate games to download than the odd Ps1 game that the Psn puts up, which is annoying if you like some of the classics of the 90s era. This does seem to be changing slowly, with Sony putting more up every month.

To summarise, the Xbox 360 wins this category. It less buggy online play and it's best back account of games on the Xbla puts it marginally ahead of the Ps3.

Games

The most prominent type of them all! After all you are paying for a console to play games on, so what games are you going to play. More and more games are being produced to be played on both consoles, so the only way to analyse this type is to look at the console exclusive games.

PlayStation 3 Exclusives - 2011

- diminutive Big Planet 2
- Killzone 3
- Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
- Resistance 3
- Infamous 2
- Socom 4
- Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One
- Yakuza 4
- Twisted Metal
- NinoKuni
- Sorcery (Move)
- Jouney
- PlayStation Move Heroes (Move)
- Ape Escape
- Mlb 11: The Show
- Ico/Shadow of Colossus Collection
- The Last Guardian

And rumored, such as:

Final Fantasy Versus Xiii
Agent
Starhawk
Syphon Filter

Xbox 360 Exclusives - 2011

- Gears of War 3
- Xcom
- Kingdoms
- Forza Motorsports 4
- StarWars Kinect (Kinect Game)
- Rise of Nightmares (Kinect Game)
- Codename D (Kinect Game)
- project Draco
- Steal Battalion: Heavy Armor (Kinect Game)
- The secret World
- Haunt
- Possible
- perfect Dark
- project Gotham Racing 5
- Mechwarrior 5
- Nuclear Dawn

You don't need to be a veteran analyst to conceive from this list that rule PlayStation 3 is the clear winner out of the two. It's a bit disappointing to see Microsoft opting for more Kinect based casual titles than giving something hardcore to the Xbox 360 community. As for PlayStation 3, it doesn't get any better.

Conclusion

If this article had been written a integrate of years ago, the Xbox 360 would have won. But the Ps3 looks set to be king of 2011. It is more expensive, but you get a lot more for you're money and the upcoming game releases for this year are so much better. You won't be disappointed with the 360 as it's a great console, but the Ps3 has matured and gotten better.

Playstation 3 Vs Xbox 360

Before I get started, I feel that I need to let everyone know that I am a Playstation 3 owner, but I assure all of you that I don't have as much bias as most console owners do towards their systems. My roommate has an Xbox and I spent a fair whole of time playing Halo 3 and Gears of War with him, so I have a lot of respect for the console.

I bought a Ps3 because I had been waiting for one ever since I got my Ps2. I tended to stay loyal to Sony generally because they had done so well with their previous systems and they had games that blew the Nintendo 64 away, which was the law I had in elementary school (bad decision).

Xbox360 Bluray

When Ps3 came out, Xbox 360 was already in the houses of millions of people and the pricey 0 price tag on the Ps3 held gamers at bay for a while, who hoped they could keep themselves busy with a Psp until the price went down. I waited until a year after it came out to buy one and by then I had gotten used to satisfying my video game needs with the Xbox 360.

Playstation 3 Vs Xbox 360

One major inequity between the two systems is the technical specs. Ps3 fans can boast that the law has first-rate technology and thus better graphics and more memory on the blu-ray discs. Xbox 360 can argue that their library has more popular games like the Halo series and Gears of War.

From what I've seen personally, there doesn't seem to be a huge inequity in graphics between the two systems; my friend and I each got copies of Call of Duty 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 for our respective systems and I can't undoubtedly say there was a inequity between my Ps3 and his Xbox 360. This is just one of my theories but when games are made for both systems, the limits on graphics can only go as far as the Xbox 360 can cope while the Ps3 could go a lot further, but then again, it's just a theory.

After the discontinuation of Hd Dvds, I pretty much notion that Xbox 360 was done for because I figured that if people had the selection to buy a gaming law and a Dvd player in one (a Ps3) they would; though it didn't seem to upset the Xbox 360's sales that much.

Most people, like me, were floored when it was revealed at E3 that Final Fantasy Xiii was arrival to the Xbox, I have to say I am very impressed with Microsoft's strategy of buying rights for games once exclusively for the Ps3 and retention games for Xbox out of the Ps3 library.

Despite the aggressive plan of Microsoft to get the rights of games once exclusively for the Ps3, I am going to make a prediction that Sony with have the upper hand in the console wars for a few main reasons: we haven't begun to see the possibilities the Ps3's hardware is capable of. The Blu-ray disc can hold much for memory than the 360's Dvd. Also, Ps3's online is free, and Xbox live is about a year.

So ultimately, my advice to the man seeing to buy one of these fine consoles would be to invest in a Ps3, since it will probably have a longer shelf life than the 360, but if you can find a 360 for extra cheap, getting it wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Console War-Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3

When it comes to the industry of gaming, the enterprise that develops a gaming console with the biggest and baddest hardware will ordinarily be declared the victor. However, in the up-to-date years, two fellowships have leaped ahead of all the rest and have become the "kings" of the gaming industry. But, as every person knows, there can be only one true "king". Those two competitive kings are currently the fellowships of Sony and Microsoft. The Playstation 3 is Sony's weapon and the Xbox 360 is the weapon of Microsoft; and with their weapons, the two are going to battle in an all out war.

Many believe that the new Nintendo Wii should-be/is a valid participant in this gaming war, and no one can unmistakably blame them for that line of thinking. Although the Wii has some great innovation and has made a splash in the gaming industry, it has neither the firepower nor the fan base that the Xbox 360 or Ps3 currently has. Therefore, it may creep into the battle once or twice with a good game, but it won't stand up to the big boys for very long.

Xbox360 Bluray

Most gamers are well-known with this war and know that it is probably going to last quite a whole of years. Although gamers claim to know much about this war, no one unmistakably knows what cards are going to be played next, by each enterprise that is. Even though both fellowships have the "Great Game" card, which they pull out occasionally, both of them still have their own tricks and tactics to pull in more gamers. For instance, instead of the Sony just going with a normal controller for the Ps3, they advanced the Sixaxis controller; which happens to have motion sensing capability. It may not be as innovative as the Wii controller, but it adds something special to the Ps3 experience.

Console War-Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3

Its positive that the Xbox 360 has much more footing than the Ps3 at the current time. The conjecture being: the Xbox 360 has been out for a puny over a year, while the Ps3 has only just been released (November 17th, 2006). That means anything who wants an Xbox 360 whether already has one or can go down to the store and get one within minutes. The Playstation 3, on the other hand, is still in the "list" phase, which means that it is near impossible to get one without unmistakably being on a list. But, within a few months to a year, the Ps3 will leave the list phase and be ready to walk-in shoppers; allowing many more population to get their hands on the console system. The playing field will then become slightly more level for the two consoles.

From a visual point of view, the Ps3 and Xbox 360 do not appear to differ all that much. Some would say that the Ps3 graphics look a bit more detailed, and that may be true, but the contrast is hardly noticeable. In terms of hardware, it seems the Ps3 is packing more of a punch, which would catalogue for its higher price. That is partly due to the fact that the Ps3 has a built-in Blu-ray disc player that supports high-def resolution. The only problem with that is the fact that gamers want to play games, and the quality to play movies (whether they be Dvds or Blu-ray discs) is a bonus, rather than a necessity.

The Xbox 360 did not try to push its movie playing software onto it's fans (which is a Hd-Dvd player). The Xbox 360 did/does not come with the Hd-Dvd player. Thats because it is an add-on, which may be perceived as a good thing or a bad thing. whether way, manufacture it an add-on has saved money for the population who didn't/don't care about watching movies on their gaming system. Many gamers believe that the same recipe should have been taken with the Ps3, which would have allowed population to make their own decision about getting a Blu-ray disc player or saving some money.

As anything could have guessed, this battle is not going to be won so easily. Each enterprise is going to do anything they can to pull ahead and get more fans. whether gamers know it or not, this is unmistakably a good thing for the gaming industry. Two competing, gaming fellowships will only strive to come up with more innovative and fun games for their fans. This means that consumers will see more games that are more fun, more frequently. It's true that these gaming titans might be fighting a never ending battle, but end or no end, it is still going to be one heck of a fight to the top.

Xbox 360 Vs PlayStation 3 Vs Wii - Who's the Best?

The gaming business is booming bigger than ever before. Gamers have more choices than ever when it comes to consoles. The days of Nintendo vs. Sega are over, new players have joined in the fray to do battle with the old guard. With three major choices in consoles, how do you know which one is for you? I'll feature some of the major advantages of each to help you in making the right decision.

#1 - Microsoft Xbox 360

Xbox360 Bluray

The Xbox 360 has the most robust game library of all the systems, mostly because it has been out the longest. While some could argue the PlayStation 3 gets this honor because of its ability to play PlayStation 1 and 2 games, we are only taking into catalogue games made specifically for the current system. At the time of this writing, the 360 has 1751 titles available compared to 607 for the PlayStation 3. The Xbox 360 also boasts a much larger on-line society with tons of group media features built into the Xbox Live Dasboard.

Xbox 360 Vs PlayStation 3 Vs Wii - Who's the Best?

#2 - Sony PlayStation 3

The PlayStation 3 was designed to be more than a console, it was envisioned to be a home multimedia component. The biggest advantage that the PlayStation has over its competitors is a built in Blu-Ray player. This opens up someone else realm of home entertainment past just playing games. Why pay 0+ for a Blu-Ray player alone when you could buy a PlayStation 3 for less that 0 more and having the gaming capabilities as well. The games also advantage from being on Blu-Ray discs because the capacity is much higher than Dvd discs used in the Xbox 360. Larger games may only take one disc on a PlayStation, where as they may take two or three on an Xbox 360.

#3 - Nintendo Wii

The Wii has revolutionized gaming to say the least. It was the first main stream console to successfully incorporate request for retrial operate into gaming. Gamers now have the choice to operate the characters onscreen by body movement, not just controller input. While Microsoft and Sony are now trying to catch up and introduce request for retrial controllers on their current platforms, the Wii beat them to the punch big time. The Wii has a much smaller library of games and a smaller on-line community, but it is growing rapidly as developers learn new ways to harness the technology behind the Wii. The Wii is the top-selling law world-wide because it can be played by hard-core gamers and casual gamers as well.
